Sous Vide Steak

Print Friendly

Wow, thats all i can say, I don;t have a picture to share because I was hungry and ate before i remembered I wanted a picture.

What I can say is, cooking a steak sous vide style just may be my go-to way for cooking from now on.  Easy is the word that comes to mind – place your seasoned steak in a vacuum seal bag – i used salt and pepper and a little garlic powder), Heat the water with your sous vide devise to 130F for medium rareand when the water comes up to temp add your bag(s) of steak(s).  Set the timer for 1 hr. yes, 1 hour and walk away.  When the time is up — or not, because with sous vide the amazing benefit is that the food will STAY at that temp – empty the bag and sear the steak(s) in a screaming hot cast iron skillet for about a minute on each side.  This will result in a perfectly cooked medium rare steak. We topped ours with a homemade garlic butter.  All I can say is, wow!  Amazing results.

If you are looking for a easy, very little clean up solution, this may be your salvation.

Let me know how YOU make out with your Sous Vide cooking and please share any recipes you might have.

Cheers!
